Powerful as a tsunami and as eternal as the deep sea, Oceans rose from the blackened heart of the void in 2018, embracing despair, wrath and darkness. Their first offering came in the form of an EP titled ‘Into The Void’ which was released back in March of this year following their signing to Nuclear Blast Records, and consisted of four tracks of blisteringly bleak post-death metal and an extraordinary cover of Marilyn Manson’s ‘The Last Day On Earth’. The band then went on to produce a four track covers EP titled ‘Cover Me In Darkness’ that explored a number of their key influences such as Deftones, Alice In Chains, Radiohead as well as a perhaps unexpected rendition of Alessia Cara’s ‘Scars To Your Beautiful’ which features a guest spot by Cellar Darling vocalist Anna Murphy.

The modern metal landscape debut full length ‘The Sun And The Cold’ contains tracks such as We Are The Storm and Paralyzed display the band’s song writing prowess with morose clean sections that invoke In Flames at their most captivating before delving into the murky depths of vocalist Timo Rotten’s unearthly roar, whilst Dark finds itself amidst a whirlwind of classic European death metal riffs and furious drums that seethe with cataclysmic intent.
