In 1991, the Non-Fiction debut 'Preface' was released on Grand Slamm Records, in Europe on Steamhammer/SPV. At the time, many fans of Hades and Watchtower must have been surprised by the doom metal sound, while fans of this style remained unaware of it without the Internet. It is astonishing that certain trademarks of Hades can still be found throughout the music of Non-Fiction (see also the 1995 reunion album by Hades).
