Surfacing from the Icelandic underground scene, Múr are bound to release their self-titled debut album (“Múr”). Formed in 2021, the band gained recognition after winning in the Icelandic Wacken Metal Battle in the spring of 2022, which led to their performance at the renowned Wacken Open Air festival in the same year. Their debut album takes listeners on an emotional, somber journey while exploring the diversity of contemporary metal. Spanning 55 minutes across seven tracks, the album unfolds a narrative through both expansive and concise segments, skillfully blending various genres and atmospheres while maintaining an emotional core throughout. With the addition of striking music videos, this release is set to affirm Múr’s status as one of Iceland’s most dynamic and promising musical acts.
