For the last 3,5 years Maydien has been working on his debut album. This project has been chosen by Fonds Podiumkunsten for a financial contribution of the maximum amount. The album contains featurings such as Jarreau Vandal, Wantigga, DJ Waxfiend, LYMA and more and is mostly produced by Mitchell Yard. The release date is set for March 10, 2023. LAB Music and Roche Musique will both help on the distribution ends.

Maydien is a Dutch vocalist who combines the styles Neo-Soul, HipHop, Chill and R&B into a fresh new hybrid. Leaving a musical trace in The Netherlands, Maydien’s biggest dream is to travel with his music and that became his main focus. Signing projects with Parisian label Roche Musique, touring through Europe and Asia and being credited by platforms such as BBC Radio, Complex, Hypebeast, Mass Appeal and more, are just some of the achievements that came along the way while chasing that dream. He loves to connect with people. Sharing relatable stories and topics, combined with mostly warm and feel good sounds, makes his music easy to like and appreciate. As a live performer, Maydien gained a lot of experience being an opening act for artists such as Anderson .Paak, Jay Z, Frank Ocean, Mick Jenkins, FKJ, Snoop Dogg, Bilal and more.

This album is about the road to Maydien’s balance. He talks about many insights, experiences and certain depths he hasn’t talked about before. His balance is being care free, which means happiness to him, which brings peace and joy. “After ten years of putting out music, I got to know things about me I bet I wouldn't discover if it wasn’t for music. Musically the (spoken) words are supported by a mix of spacy melodies, Neo-Soul vibes and a big addition of Hip Hop sounds. With this project I want to give people new energy or that extra boost for them to keep exploring and continue to blossom.” “Sometimes I can be so involved and sharp, sometimes I’m completely zoned out in thoughts. I found peace in both, but it took me a while. My album has that same effect. It can draw you in and the next song can push you out and spark new energy.” “When I listen to certain songs of the album, I think of certain spaces. Spacious area’s like churches, lakes or the woods. I hope to perform the album someday in a space like that.”
