Hailing from the coastal town of Kotka, MARIANAS REST embodies the Finnish melancholy and sadness of a cold, harsh winter landscape with absolute perfection. March 24, 2023 will see the band release their new offering, Auer, via Napalm Records, and exceed all expectations with their intense blend of melodic death metal and blackened doom and black metal elements!

The six-piece, with Jaakko Mäntymaa on vocals and Omnium Gatherum’s Aapo Koivisto on keys, was formed in 2013. They took the heavy music scene by storm with the release of their impressive debut Horror Vacui in 2016. Now, just in time to celebrate their 10th band anniversary, MARIANAS REST unleashes eight new tracks, which couldn’t be more multi-layered.

Auer is epic, heavy, sad and bleak; its overall melancholy yet brutal riffs, mesmerizing sound colors and immersive vocals will hit you deep in your core.

First, official album single 'Diseased' proves that death metal does not always need fast-paced riffage and thunderous blast beats - MARIANAS REST spices their dark mood with a heavy dose of doom and a significant black metal touch, to deliver a colossal record and new piece of pure art!

Tracks such as 'Light Reveals Our Wounds' and the haunting 'Sirens', featuring MY DYING BRIDE vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe, showcase the band’s epic facets and extraordinary songwriting talents; always keeping you warm and welcome yet haunted and hopeless.

The album was recorded and mixed by Teemu Aalto at Teemu Aalto Music Productions, and was mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers.
