Future Shock, the band’s fourth studio album, was released by Virgin in 1981 and peaked at No. 2 on the UK album chart Gillan’s highest ever placement. The title track hits like a sledgehammer, Lucitania Express demands a full throated chorus singalong, and the Top of the Pops featured single No Laughing In Heaven delivers a smirk worthy blend of sharp lyrics and pseudo rap. There’s not a single weak moment every track is heavy, melodic, and masterfully crafted, standing as the pinnacle of Gillan’s work, both with this band and beyond On this expanded edition, disc one consists of the original Future Shock album and disc 2 features rarities and B sides, which are appearing on vinyl for the first time. The album comes in its original gatefold sleeve form, including a 16 page booklet housing lyrics and band photos. Now pressed on stunning blue and pink 140g coloured vinyl.
