"Layers Of Lies", recorded in the winter of 2004/2005, was the first self-produced DARKANE album. A new studio had been built and the band spent evenings and weekends there to complete their fourth release. The ambition was to create a mix between the former three albums with a more brutal and futuristic sound. "We wanted to develop our sound while sticking to our style", Christofer stated in a lot of interviews.
