Dutch metal bands Burning and Sad Iron have joined forces to release “Back to Back”, a so-called “split album”, on which the bands each present four brand new songs. Over the past years, Burning and Sad Iron played together multiple times and developed a special friendship, which gave rise to the idea of a split album.

BURNING

Burning, from the province of Groningen, have existed for ten years now and released two full albums and one EP. The band have played with several great names from the metal scene and on the album “Scourge of Humanity” from 2022, one of the songs featured former Iron Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton.

SAD IRON

In 2024, Sad Iron from Hoorn have existed for no less than 45 years! The band previously released a split album in 1982; their first full album was issued in 1983. Their second album had already been recorded in the 80’s, but was only released in 2016. In 2019, they released the album Chapter II: The Deal. Sad Iron may be considered the founder of Dutch Speed/Thrash Metal.
